For those unfamiliar with the world-class resort of Zermatt – well, there’s just nowhere quite like it! Zermatt is a charming, car-free village nestled in a valley amongst spectacular scenery dominated by the majestic Matterhorn, arguably the most famous mountain in the world. With guaranteed snow, a glacier that allows for skiing 365 days a year and new additions every year to its already extensive lift system, skiing between all three areas is now effortless and with Cervinia and Valtournenche just over the Italian border the variety is boundless and guarantees something for all ages and abilities. New for the 09/10 season is the extension of the Matterhorn Express bubble from the Schwarzsee paradise through Furgg and onto Trockener Steg which is right on the doorstep of Chalet Zen.

Though mostly known for its spectacular skiing, Zermatt is also home to a number of world class mountain restaurants such as Chez Vrony and Zum See, a favourite for long and indulgent lunches or a spot of tea and a slice of their legendary mille feuille. And for dinner, nothing beats the innovative surprise menu at the Heimberg or the local spit roasted lamb and famous cabaret at Chez Heini – an event that gets booked out weeks in advance. Zermatt is also home to an array of bars, fashionable shops and The "Vernissage" Cinema, a masterpiece of the local artist and architect Heinz Julen.
